Maximilien-François-Marie-Isidore de Robespierre (Arras 1758 - Paris 1794) was a French lawyer, statesman and member of the National Convention and the Comité de salut public during the French Revolution. He rose to prominence during the Reign of Terror and was responsible for a large number of arrests and victims by the guillotine.
