The Portrait of a young woman is traditionally attributed to Haarlem painter Jan de Bray. In the meantime it has also been attributed to Paulus Bor. The portrait depicts a self-conscious young woman and is executed in a lively, rather sketch-like style that is reminiscent of the style of Frans Hals. The portrait originally hung in the abbots residence at St Peters Abbey in Ghent.
