Ever since its fouding, it has been the aim of the Friends of the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) to collect funds in order to purchase works of art. Thanks to their initiatives, you can admire numerous masterpieces in Ghent, including the world-famous panels by Hieronymus Bosch, works by Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens or Hals, but also a large number of foreign masters, such as Géricault, De Champaigne, Hogarth, Magnasco and many others.
The efforts of the Friends of the museum have also contributed to the construction of the museum building in the Citadelpark and, more recently, to the new presentation of the museum interior and the expansion of the new Print Room.
