The history of the MSK is closely intertwined with the history of Ghent. Over the past 225 years, the museum collection has been exhibited in various places in the city, and Ghent's alleys and canals were sources of inspiration for the local artists who were born, received their training, or found their like-minded friends in the city. There are statues in the parks and many artists have their final resting place in the cemeteries.
During the festive year, we invite you into the artistic Ghent of past centuries. Our guides can take you through a part of the city or have you explore one of the cemeteries; simply indicate your preference when booking.
