This year, we celebrate twice. Next to our 225th birthday, it has also been 125 years since The Friends of the Museum were found. This makes it the oldes association of friends, together with the Friends of the Louvre.
Already for 125 years, the association The Friends of the Museum has played a crucial role in acquiring works of art for the MSK's collection. Successive generations of board members realised a particularly successful patronage in which the chairs took (and continue to take) the lead.
In the new thematic route you discover the story that the ten presidents have been writing since 1897. Using historical footage and additional commentary texts you walk through the history of 125 years The Friends. The tour is included in your museum ticket and available in English, Dutch and French.
