The development of a prints and drawings study room with works on paper is one of the cornerstones of the collection policy of the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent. The historical collection is systematically developed, gaps are eliminated and new accents added.

The emphasis for the collection is primarily - but not exclusively - on nineteenth and twentieth-century art. The museum strives to acquire representative works by national and international artists, who had strong ties with Belgium or influenced Belgian art.

You can find part of our collection of works on paper on the website of the Flemish Art Collection (VKC). Since 2016, the museum has regularly exhibited selections from the collection in temporary exhibitions in the museum galleries.

The Prints Room is only open by appointment.
