Following the commotion surrounding the authenticity of Russian artworks from the Dieleghem Foundation, exhibited in the MSK for some time, the city will engage an external auditor to investigate to what extent the museum has followed standard practices regarding incoming loans. The audit may also provide recommendations to the MSK to improve its process.

'I have ordered an external audit on the extent to which the MSK has followed the standard rules and reference practices concerning incoming loans and, if not, what recommendations they propose. I hope to receive the results as soon as possible. This investigation will be undertaken by an external auditor. In order to outsource the assignment as quickly as possible, we will examine whether the framework agreement of Audit Flanders, which local authorities can call upon, can be addressed for that purpose.'
