Leonilla, Harmonillus' sister, hears that her mother and brother have turned into lemon trees and immediately returns from hunting. She sees her mother's tree and because she has golden hair, she turns into an orange tree herself. This print is an illustration for the introduction to G.B. Ferraris book on citrus fruits (Hesperides Sive de Malorum Aureorum Cultura et Usu Libri Quatuor, Rome, 1646). Through mythological stories invented by himself, the author tries to explain the origins of the various lemon varieties.
