The false prophet is depicted as a predatory wolf in sheep's clothing. He stands on a pedestal with a wolf and preaches in the midst of the people. Several elements of the representation are accompanied by letters corresponding to the legend in the margin that are missing from the version cut at the edges in the version in Ghent.
