This commemorative medal is the fourth in a series issued by “Les Amis de la Médaille” in remembrance of the First World War. The obverse commemorates the resistance of Namur. The reverse recalls the entry of the garrison into Ostend on 2 and 3 September 1914, after a journey through France. Ultimately, between 1920 and 1926, eleven medals in this series were issued, several of which are present in the collection of the museum.
