After a career as a magistrate, Armand Hubert entered politics in 1900 and on 2 May 1907 became minister of employment and industry. This portrait medal, designed by Godfried Devreese, was presented to him as a token of gratitude for his support in organising the 1910 World Fair in Brussels. He accepted the medal in 1911 at a large banquet in his honour, to which a thousand people were invited. After registering, the participants of this feast received a copy of this medal of honour.
