The Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent houses a superb collection of old masters, including two panels by Hieronymus Bosch, important works by the Flemish Primitives and Netherlandish art from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Museum is particularly proud of its collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, which provides an overview of modern Belgian art, from Romanticism to Surrealism, with important works by (among others) George Minne and James Ensor.
